This unique festival provides an excellent opportunity for music teachers of elementary age children to hear young singers in rehearsal and performance. Over 150 choristers are selected from many schools all over the Southland to form this unique Honor Chorus. The festival marks the climax to a year’s preparation in their individual schools by Kodaly-trained* music teachers. Additionally, three young instrumentalists, recent winners of LACESMA’s annual music scholarships, will perform solo pieces.
